Paul Malatesta, 67, of Somerville, passed away after a brief but courageous battle with cancer on December 27th at Cambridge Hospital. Paul grew up in Medford and was a longtime resident of Melrose before retiring in Somerville. Paul graduated from Suffolk University, and was a sales representative for many years. He enjoyed spending time in Maine, volunteering at the Elmbrook Place in Burlington and enjoying time with his family. Paul is the son of the late William and Louise Malatesta of Medford, is the beloved father of Eric Malatesta and Eric’s wife Sandy of Medford, Keith Malatesta of Stoneham, and Emily Malatesta of Stoneham. He was also the loving grandfather of Isabella, Ashley, Joseph and Sophia. Paul is survived by his brother Phillip Malatesta and Phillip’s wife Joanne of Arlington and he was brother to the late Richard Malatesta and Richard’s surviving spouse Susan of York, Maine. Paul is also survived by his ex spouse Maureen Malatesta of Stoneham. Services will be private. Donations in Paul’s name can be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Fund.
