George Newell Salie III, 57, died peacefully on November 8, 2016. He was born and raised in Malden, Mass., but was a longtime resident of Hampstead, N.H.

He was the son of George Salie and the late Joan Salie; brother of Joanne Macaulay of Billerica; Debra Salie of Malden; Edward Salie of Malden; and the late Jeanne D’Angelo of Gray, Maine; father of Kyle Salie and Kelly Salovitch; grandfather of Grady, Sophie and Scarlett; uncle to many nieces and nephews.

George loved traveling and spending time with friends and family. He served in the Marines.

Memorial services with military honors will be Friday, Nov. 18, at 9:30 a.m. at Boston Cremation, 287 Main St., Malden, MA 02148.
