Alice McDougall (LaSala) Passed away on Wednesday, Nov 20, 2013 in Wayland, Massachusetts, succumbing to cancer the age of 62.Alice grew up in the L.I. Sound shore town of Larchmont, just north of NYC, attended Ursuline School elementary and secondary; graduated from Newton College/Boston College in 1973, with a MBA in Marketing from Babson shortly after and continued to live in the greater Boston area for the rest of her life. She was a world traveler visiting over 60 countries on 7 continents; a business-woman, avid dancer, supporter of diverse cultural and voluntary activities in Boston. An ccomplished hiker, she climbed most of the local/New England peaks, many distant ones as well. She had successful career as director of marketing for software companies in the greater Boston area. During retirement, she continued her travels (chronicled on a website she developed, aliceinwonderlands.com), furthered her talents in competitive ballroom dancing, and enjoyed spending time with her wide and diverse circle of friends. Alice was predeceased by her beloved husband, George McDougall who died in 1992, also of cancer; her father Donald F. LaSala, her brother Edward LaSala; and niece Heather Cooke. She is survived by her mother Alice G. LaSala, 91; her step-son, Justin McDougall Santospago; sister Pamela Cooke, nephews Whitney and Justin, niece Hillary; her brother Donald LaSala Jr, his wife Susan, and nephew Ian Bunk LaSala. She will also be sorely missed by her diverse group of close friends and relatives. A memorial gathering for family and friends will be in Waltham Ma in early January 2014 and an internment at Woodlawn in the Bronx, NY, in the spring of 2014. She will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.
