it was March 1973. my senior year of high school. I walked into the “smoking” section of the school and yelled out “I have an extra ticket to a concert tonight, anyone want to go?” And this tall skinny guy with long curly hair, that I knew a little, said I’ll go. He didn’t even care who the band was. So off we went in my old van to Long Island to see the Grateful dead. A few months later, we were off again. this time with 600 thousand other weirdo’s to Watkins Glen to see the Band, the allman brothers and the dead in a guinness world records crowd. This began a 50+ year friendship that i will always cherish. Say hi to Jerry for me old buddy. See ya on the other side.
