Anthony Robert Bohan

Anthony Robert Bohan of Somerville, 28 years young, died unexpectedly on May 12, 2020.

Cherished son of Lawrence M. and Linda (Corretti) Bohan. Beloved brother of Kathleen K. and Lawrence M. Bohan, III. Dear Uncle to Jade “Nugget” Bohan-Mahon. Adored Grandson of Antonio and Civita Corretti. He leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Anthony grew up in Somerville and attended the public school system, graduating from Somerville High School in 2009. He went on to earn a BA in Communications at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Anthony was an old soul – a child beyond his years. His infectious smile and twinkle in his big, brown eyes would light up a room as he entered. He was always respectful, kind, and polite, with a heart bigger than life.

His greatest gift was his glowing, magnetic personality. People were drawn to him, and everyone who met him loved him. Likewise, Anthony loved everyone, and nothing brought him greater joy than being around his friends and family. He truly had a gift for bringing people together.

Anthony also had the ability to bring laughter into the world. He was quick witted, a natural comedian able to turn any topic of conversation into a comical situation. He never missed a beat and left all in his presence shedding tears from laughter.

Anthony touched many lives. It is a great loss for everyone who knew him. Although his life was cut short and we are all left with heavy hearts and feelings of darkness and void, we must fill ourselves with the gifts that he left us – laughter, joy, and all of the memories that we made together. Anthony will live on in our thoughts but, most importantly, in our hearts.

Dear Anthony, you left us but your spirit lives on. We will continue to love you more and more each day. Rest in peace, you are safe with the Lord.

A Memorial Mass/Celebration of Life will be announced at a future date. If you would like to make a donation in Anthony’s memory – he loved the elderly most of all – donate to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or CASPAR (Cambridge and Somerville Programs for Addiction Recovery) – Bay Cove Human Services

Anthony was my first and closet friend from college, and I am so grateful to have known him. My friends and family remember him fondly, and in all our reminiscing this sentiment is shared throughout: Anthony’s sense of humor was brilliant, his laughter contagious, and his effervescence unmatched.

My deepest condolences to you and your family .
Although you don’t know me , I heard wonderful things about your son and felt the need to read about him.
Having just lost my beloved husband and father of my three sons and foster father to a little girl,I want to let you know that he is already working his magic by helping a family read about him and learn that their father and my husband left us gifts of memories, joy and laughter.
The way you put this made me stop crying tonight… and I want Thank you for helping us through Anthony.
God works in mysterious ways .
He had a little connection with my husband as he was a CEO in Behavioral Health Care and understood the struggles patients went through .
Little did we know , he had his own .
He never complained and passed suddenly in his sleep from a MI.
May they meet on the other side and share some laughter and stories and console us together.
    Peace and much love.
