Arthur Giaquinto, 78, of Boxford, MA, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, August 29, 2016 after a prolonged battle with cancer. Arthur was born on July 16, 1938 during the great depression and throughout his lifetime refused to permit adversity to diminish his zest for living. Even in the twilight of his life when confronted with faltering health, he lived everyday by his motto, “Enjoy what you are,” a quality his family will strive to maintain in his memory. As a boy and through his formative years he cultivated his passion for sports on the gridiron and baseball fields. As an adult he excelled at golf and tennis, becoming a champion on the court. His mastery of tennis was matched only by his selfless enthusiasm to share his talent, mentoring family and friends. Arthur’s career was fueled by an entrepreneurial spirit and marked by excellence. His skill as an engineer served as the foundation for establishing his own small business where he garnered a reputation for designing and implementing innovative and ingenious solutions to problems ranging from the mundane to complex. That same spirit spilled over into his home carpentry projects, gardening and even in his budding passion for cooking.
Arthur is survived by his daughter Teresa Marie Shea of Boxford, MA and his two sons, Joseph Arthur Giaquinto of Groveland, MA and Todd Joseph Giaquinto and Todd’s wife Nicole of North Andover, MA; four grandchildren, Jacquelyn and Janelle Shea and Evan and Zack Giaquinto. Arthur will be sadly missed, yet affectionately remembered, as a loving father, grandfather and devoted friend.
In keeping with Arthur’s wishes there will be a private celebration of life service. Memorial donations may be made in Arthur’s name to Care Dimensions Kaplan House, 5 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923. Their loving care and compassion will be forever appreciated by Arthur’s family.
