Atherleen Agnes (Hanson) Brady

Atherleen Agnes (Hanson) Brady, 96, of Groton MA passed away peacefully on May 16, 2022 with her son Michael by her side.  She was born in Brockton, MA, on 10/27/1925, the daughter of Atherleen (Brown) and Frederick Hanson.  She was the wife of Hugh Joseph Brady (deceased) and they were married for 57 years.  Atherleen was the mother of Michael Brady and his wife Jean of Groton, MA and Kathleen and her husband Glenn Boulton of Waynesville, NC.  She leaves behind 5 grandchildren: Nicholas and his wife Nina, Philip and Benjamin Brady and Jeremiah and Jacob Boulton, as well as four great-grandchildren.  

Atherleen graduated from Brockton High School and attended Bridgewater State Teachers College where she graduated in 1947.  She had a lengthy career as a kindergarten teacher in the Braintree School system.  Atherleen raised her family in Brockton MA and upon retirement moved to Taunton MA, where she made many good friends. She enjoyed listening to classical music and opera, reading, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed taking walks, line dancing, and going to restaurants where she always saved room for dessert! One of her simple pleasures was Dunkin Donuts coffee. She was very proud of her grandchildren who lived on both the east and west coast.
