Carl E. Schirmer, Jr.
Carl E. Schirmer Jr., 72, of Hingham, died on Monday. Born in Boston, Mr. Schirmer had also resided in Quincy, Brockton, and Hull before returning to live in Hingham. Mr. Schirmer had been employed as a staging builder at the General Dynamics Shipyard in Quincy, and as a laborer for a number of contractors in and around Hingham.
He was predeceased by his parents, Carl E. Schirmer and Alice M. (Ewell) Schirmer, both lifelong Hingham residents, and one son Carl J. Schirmer of Brockton.
He is survived by brother Ralph F. Schirmer and his wife Mary (Merlin) of Hingham, three sisters Alice M. (Chickie) Stern and her husband David N. Stern, Ann Marie Denubio and her husband Louis Danubio- all of Weymouth, and Doris P. Schirmer of Rockland. He is also survived by daughter Jennifer Schirmer, and aunts Mrs. Geraldine (Ewell) Crowell of Boston and Margaret (Ewell) Pearson of Boston, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mr. Schirmer’s body will be cremated, and a private celebration of his life will be held later in the year.
