Carol L. Johnston

Carol Louise Johnston, 69, passed peacefully due to complications from Multiple Sclerosis on December 29, 2018 at the Leonard Florence Center for Living in Chelsea, Massachusetts, in the company of her family and close friends. Carol was born on November 23, 1949 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Jean Hathaway and Harry L. Stilwell III.

Carol is survived by her two children, Dawn Hinchliffe and Christa Pammer, her three treasured grandchildren, Jackson Hinchliffe, Brinley Trone and Liam Pammer, as well as her identical twin sister, Susan Miles, her half-sister, Linda Smith, and her nieces and nephews, Tammy Heffron, Rebecca Metraux Canna and Scott Canna.

Carol graduated from Springfield High School in Oreland, Pennsylvania and lived and worked for many years in the suburban Philadelphia area before moving to Massachusetts in 2007. Upon moving to Massachusetts, Carol became a passionate Boston Red Sox fan and also enjoyed going to movies and shows, shopping and soaking up the sun on the patio with her friends at the Leonard Florence Center. Most of all, Carol loved spending time with her family and friends, including furry, four-legged ones. Carol loved all dogs, but especially her beloved black Lab, Georgia.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to may make a memorial contribution to either the Leonard Florence Center for Living, Slifka House Activities, 165 Captain’s Row, Chelsea, Massachusetts 02150, or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (https://secure.nationalmssociety.org/site/Donation2?df_id=55995&55995.donation=form1).”
