Cesar Alcantara Ilagan

Cesar Alcantara Ilagan of Braintree, MA passed away on January 3rd, 2022 at the age of 62. He was born on January 27th, 1959 in San Andres, Manila, Philippines to the late Vicente and Gregoria Ilagan.

Cesar was a simple man who enjoyed watching sports, listening to some good ol’ classic rock, and getting full on delicious homemade meals. Most importantly, he was extremely fond of watching the successes of his family blossom into reality. Immigrating to the United States with his wife and two children on a cold December day in 2003, Cesar helped his loved ones begin their journey towards achieving the American Dream. Although his own personal trek was interrupted with various medical issues, he never failed to smile and applaud his family’s many life achievements.

All who had the pleasure of knowing Cesar will never forget his captivating story-telling abilities, humor, and wonderful singing talents. Most importantly, they will never forget his strength and continued perseverance to live simplistically, yet fully, despite the hardships.

Cesar is survived by his loving wife Edna, daughter Abigail Moreno and husband Carlos, and daughter Hannah Ilagan. He was also the brother to Ronald Ilagan and wife Ofelia, Arlene Sangalang and husband Mario, and Norman Ilagan and wife Evelyn.

The family would also like to extend their deepest of gratitudes to South Shore Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion during the past couple of weeks.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a celebration of life on Wednesday, January 12th, at St. Francis of Assisi located at 856 Washington St., Braintree, at 11:30am followed by a funeral at Blue Hill Cemetery.
