Cheryl A. (Burton) D’Abreu

Cheryl A. (Burton) D’Abreu, age 66, of Norton, MA, beloved mother of Samantha
(D’Abreu) Downs, passed away on February 4, 2022 after a brief but hard-fought battle
with cancer. She was born in Attleboro, MA on October 1, 1955, and was the youngest
daughter of the late Clyde E. and Joan H. (Jackson) Burton. Originally from
Foxborough, Cheryl attended Foxborough schools and was a member of the Class of 1973. She worked for the former Foxboro Company (now Schneider Electric) in the shipping department for 30 years prior to her retirement just a few short years ago.

Cheryl enjoyed binge-watching the Food Network and HGTV, and playing Candy Crush
on her iPad. She loved watching and feeding the birds, especially hummingbirds. During
the summer months, she could frequently be found relaxing by the pool soaking up the
sun at her daughter’s house. That was her happy place. She was also a regular at Mike’s
Pizza in Norton, where she met many great people over the years. People that would
become lifelong friends, and that she appreciated greatly.

In addition to her daughter, Samantha, Cheryl leaves behind Samantha’s husband,
David, and her grandson, Nathan, who she cherished with all of her heart and was so
proud of. She also leaves behind her niece Nikki, and nephew Paul, both of Kansas.
Cheryl was greeted in heaven by her parents, Clyde and Joan, and her sister Pamela M.
Burton. She was the former wife of the late Raymond L. D’Abreu, with whom she had an
unbreakable bond.

All are invited to attend her celebration of life on Monday, February 21, 2022 from 9am-
11am, with a prayer service to begin at 10:30am at Boston Cremation, 115 N. Main St.,
Mansfield, MA 02048. Burial will be immediately following at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1
Franklin St., also in Mansfield, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to SouthCoast VNA by going

Dearest Sam, I was a friend of your Mom while living in Foxboro many years ago. We had a lot of good times together for sure. Her greatest joy was her love for you Sam. I did get to know you in your younger days when you played with your cousins Michael & Phillip. I will not be able to make it to your Mom’s celebration of life, but I will be there in spirit! May she find peace with her parents, Ray, & Pam! 💗
