Saugus, MA – Clara J. (Diotte) Mariano, 88 of Saugus died peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. Clara was preceded in death by her siblings; Armand, M. Louise, Lillian, Richard, and their parents Arthur and Alexandrine (Boisvert) Diotte. Clara is survived by her friend and former husband Anthony H. Mariano of Hampsted, NH and preceded in death by their youngest son Ronald Mariano. Clara also leaves behind her children; James Mariano of Georgetown, MA, Marcia Mariano of Henrico, VA and Jeanne Zelinski of Saugus, MA along with many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. 

Clara was a long time employee of the Hammersmith Inn Restaurant in Saugus, where she waitressed for many years and formed countless friendships. She loved nature and watching all the wildlife that explored the area during the warmer months. In particular the many birds, deer, turkeys, gophers and foxes. She especially enjoyed the gardens that surrounded her home.

She was a beautiful, kind soul and will forever be missed.
