Colleen F. Longmuir

Colleen Frances Longmuir

September 5, 1953 – November 29, 2018

Colleen Longmuir, 65, of Newport, ME passed away peacefully, in the company of her family, at Glen Ridge Nursing Home in Medford, MA.

Colleen was a selfless soul who loved above all else. She will be greatly missed by her children, family and all those who loved her.

Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry;

I am not there. I did not die.

(Mary Elizabeth Frye)

Now I know why Colleen was in my thoughts recently. From my days as a new CNA to sharing giant college nursing books & meeting up on the jobs through the years to her insights as a resident years later… she was so much more than her struggles and I will miss her ♥️ ~~~ my deepest condolences

Many of us were friends of Colleen and her sister Linda when we all went to Springfield Schools in Battle Creek, Michigan. Because their father was in the Air Force, the family was transferred away. We wish that they could have stayed for a few more years and graduation.

Several summers ago Colleen came to a small class reunion and it was great to see her again and to catchup with her.

We will miss our classmate and joyful friend.
