David L. Vince


David L. Vince, 71, formerly of Millbrook, NY passed away in Boston, MA on January 18, 2014 from pulmonary fibrosis. He was born July 28, 1942 in Paterson, NJ son of the late Stephen and Catherine (Berger) Vince. He graduated from Longmeadow, MA High School in 1960 and The Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He was the golf course superintendent for the Millbrook Golf and Tennis Club Millbrook, NY for over 40 yrs. He was also a member of the Millbrook Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. Upon his retirement in 2005 he lived aboard his sailboat year round at Harbor House Marina in Stamford, CT and had recently moved to Cape Cod to be closer to family. He had a lifelong love of the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and sailor. He is survived by his brother Ronald Vince of Vernon NJ; daughters Suzanne Salchert of Union, KY, Amy Vince of Falmouth, MA; son in law David Bank of Falmouth, MA; grandchildren Luke and Madison Salchert, Alden Bank and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday February 1, 2014 at 11am at St. Joseph’s Church in Millbrook NY. A reception will immediately follow at the Millbrook Rod and Gun Club, 387 Woodstock Road, Millbrook.     I am so sad to hear of the passing of a very dear friend but all of us that knew and loved vincey will never forget him . God bless you buddy rest in peace.
