David Whamond


David Whamond January 23, 1954 – March 9, 2020

David passed unexpectedly on Monday. David is survived by his children, Christopher and Margaret, his former wife Kimberley (Dill) Whamond, long time friend, Jen Gadowski, sister-in-law Mary Whamond-Fortier, nephews Connor and Andrew, and niece Emily Whamond. He is predeceased by his parents, David and Davina (Davie) Whamond, and brother Alan Whamond.

David was born in Scotland and moved to Barre, MA as a teenager where he graduated from Quabbin Regional High School and continued his education at Worcester Boys Trade to become an electrician. David was a long time employee of Renaud Electric & Communications, Inc.

Arrangements are forthcoming and a celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

    Your Father was so proud of the two of you!!

    I have so many fond memories of Dave, he was not only a co-worker but a good friend, mentor and excellent human being!
    His humor would keep me laughing all day!

    He is sorely missed and he was truly loved by all!

    Dave will be greatly missed by many. He was a long time devoted employee here at Renaud Electric. Dave made many friends with his candid personality. His dedication to his job and his co workers was immense. He was a big part of all of us who got to know him.He is in our hearts and thoughts every day. Rest in peace my friend.

    To all who knew Dave, Dave was my peer at REC. He was truly a good guy and friend who cared about life more than all else. We shared many a laugh together and many challenges together. As you know there can be many in our business. I miss him dearly and daily. I have a new appreciation for the phraze “Live every day as if it were your last”.     My sincere sympathies to David’s family and friends. Our families emigrated from Scotland to Barre, Ma. at the same time and I have very fond memories of the Whamond family. They were lovely people and I will always remember them as such. I feel very blessed to have known such a nice family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all, at this very sad time.

    We were so saddened to hear of Dave’s passing! We will miss our conversations and many laughs. When I was fighting my cancer battle for the second time he always told me “you got this” and I would tell him the same. We have fond memories of the times we spent with him and Tricia, especially our Maine trip! . Rest In Peace our dear friend, until we meet again!
