LOWELL – Denis Paul Cunningham, 65, of Lowell, passed peacefully at home on December 31st, 2017, after a long illness . Denis was the youngest son of the late Iris and Leo Cunningham, is survived by his wife Danielle Cunningham; step son Joey Buscanera; sister M. Judith Evans; niece Brenda Evans; Nephews Tim & Sean Evans. He was also the brother of late David Cunningham and Larry Cunningham.

Prior to his illness, he had worked at the Middlesex Shelter where he was active in street outreach and homelessness prevention. He also worked at Home Depot in Tewksbury. For over 20 continuous years Denis was an active member of The Lowell Eyeopener Group and spent many years of his life helping others.

Funeral Mass to be held at St. Margaret’s Church in Lowell, on January 12, 2018, at 10am, reception to follow.
