Dennis John Collins


Dennis John Collins, age 71, of Wrentham died December 6th, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 18th, 1947 he was the son of the late Anthony and Elizabeth (Hanley) Collins. He graduated from Roslindale High School with the class of 1965. Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970.

Dennis earned Associate Degrees from Andover Institute and Fischer Junior College. He spent 33 years of his career in Information Technology at John Hancock Financial Services in Boston. Dennis retired in 2003.

He was a member of the Eastern Massachusetts Corvette Club for 30 years. Over the years he served as Vice President, Secretary, Competition Chair, social activity coordinator, and Gazette editor of the club. He made many lasting friendships with fellow car enthusiasts. In his spare time Dennis enjoyed gardening, fishing and working on cars. For many years he started his weekend mornings at Dunkin Donuts with the “breakfast club”.

Beloved husband of Carolyn (Grenier) Collins for 47 years.

Loving Father of Keith Collins and girlfriend Joann Wason of Bellingham, MA and Coreen Konopka and husband John of Myrtle Beach, SC

Cherished grandfather of Erin Collins of Bellingham, MA and Ayden and Aynslee Konopka of Myrtle Beach, SC

Brother of James Collins and his wife Judy of East Dorset, VT; the late Francis Collins and wife Dianne of Walpole, MA; Judith Mahar and late husband Frank of Attleboro, MA and Josephine Lawlor and husband Joseph of Pembroke, MA and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life is being planned for March 2020.
