Diane M. Kohlstrom


Diane M. Kohlstrom passed away on Aug 12, 2022, at age 73. She died at home after a long illness. She leaves her beloved husband of 32 years Randy Kohlstrom and her loving cat Linus. She is proceeded by her parents Larry and Terresa (Champagne) Bashaw and brother Dick Bashaw. She leaves a sister Barbara Dupont. Diane received love and support by all her neighbors, in particular Barb Haydocy and Lori Casposa who provided comfort and many meals. She also received friendship and support from her friends Bev Hill and David Tisdale. Diane also received much love and support from Randy’s family, Karen and Charlie Woodcok, Bill Kohlstrom and Rudy (Pops) Kohlstrom prior to his passing.


Diane graduated Leominster High in 1967. She went on to become a Registered Nurse after graduating Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Nursing in 1970, number 1 in her class. She went on to start her nursing career at Burbank Hospital becoming the youngest head nurse in the recovery room. She went on to being a caring and compassionate nurse at the Devereux special education school, the North Central Correctional Prison, and the Templeton Developmental Center for the mentally handicapped. She also ran the Fitchburg Nautilus Health club where she and Randy met, and they fell in love.

In her youth Di was an avid racket ball player. Later with Randy, Diane enjoyed backpacking in the white mountains, cross-country skiing and playing guitar with her husband. Di loved to do crossword puzzles and looking out the window at her home. She also loved her many cats and her wonderful smart dog Tucker.

Funeral arrangement will be by Boston Cremation. She preferred not to have a service. There will be a private celebration of her life at a later date.

    Ron Levesque son of her aunt Rita who was Diane’s mothers closest sister. Diane was a first cousin and we were only one year different in age. I have many great memories of Diane and her wonderful family. I have missed her very much and wish we had stayed closer. I will always remember her and will miss and love her forever. Love you Ron.
