Dorothy F. MacDonald


Dorothy Frances MacDonald (Dotty), age 82 of Malden, passed away on Feb. 28th. [complications due to diabetes)].

Visitation will be at Boston Cremation 287 Main St. Malden, on Monday from 9-10:45am followed by a Funeral Mass will be held in Sacred Hearts Church 315 Main St. Malden MA at 11 am. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Mausoleum.

Dorothy was born in Medford on [September 27, 1934]. She completed the Eighth grade and then immediately found employment in order to help support her parents.

She married Kenneth MacDonald in June 1957.

Dorothy worked as a Line worker at various factories, and She also worked as a homemaker at the convent in Medford MA for Retired in 1997James Brudnick’s Co.for 47 years. She enjoyed music, animals and loved spending with her children and Grandchildren. She loved to laugh and enjoyed the company of loved ones, friends and social activities. Dorothy lived life to the fullest, she loved riding around in her retirement car as her reward with little dog Joey. She was also actively involved in The Salvation Army, she was a soldier and children’s leader in the Malden Salvation Army., She is a Member of the Fellowship of the Silver Star as her youngest daughter is a Salvation Army Officer.

Dorothy is survived by her Daughters SSG Janet F. MacDonald (Retired from Army National Guard) and Joyce M. Thornton and husband Gary, Granddaughters Miranda, and Lindsey. Nephew Rick Smith and family, Niece Ruth Smith, and the late Ralph Smith and other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents James Smith, Frances Nora (Buckley) Smith, and Brother Richard James Smith.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to [North Shore Animal Shelter at 374 Highland Ave. Salem MA 01970.].
