Edith “Squeakie” Newell
Edith “Squeakie” Newell passed away peacefully on Saturday , April 9 , 2022 at the age of 74 at The Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham. Edith worked as a dietary aide at Boston City Hospital and Long Island for many years and most of her career. She loved any kind of board games or card games, especially Scrabble. Edith enjoyed crocheting , knitting ,and challenging 1000 piece puzzles. She was the family go to for for any memories including long forgotten dates and times of the past. She could recall anything you asked her.
Born on October 14 , 1947 the ninth of ten children of the late, Robert A. and Edith (Russ) Newell. She is survived by her sisters: Betty Newell , Barbara Longe and her brother, Leslie “Butch” Newell; her two aunts and her beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Robert “Randy” Newell Jr., Paul Newell and David Newell; her sisters: Rita Daly , Carol Muienelo and Donna Mc Cabe. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
All are invited to attend a celebration of her life on Thursday , April 21, 2022 from 9am-11am at Boston Cremation, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy, MA 02169.

“Squeakie” was my good friend. We would talk for hours, and she was my go to when I needed to know an important date, or an event! Squeakie will be missed by so many people who just Loved her! My condolences to Squeakies family. I miss you my friend Squeakie, there wont be a day that goes by that I wont miss your smile!
