Eduardo C. Santos
Eduardo C. Santos, 80, of Peabody passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2020 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Graciosa, Azores on July 12, 1940 and immigrated to the United States on July 1, 1958.
He worked at several leather factories. Years later in 1970, he went to work for B&M railroad until a work injury left him disabled in 1991. An avid fisherman, he loved to fish off the rocks of Gloucester and Marblehead, MA. In 1981, he rescued a seal pup from the shores of Beverly. He took pride in his garden, making wine from the grapes he grew and tending to his fig trees. Loved by his community, he was always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a passion for food and loved to cook; no one ever left his home hungry.
He is survived by his “sweetheart” wife Debra E. Santos (O’Neil) of 50 years, his four daughters; Lisa C. Arpin & her husband Ron of Raymond, NH, Linda M. Fayoda & her husband Bola of Peabody, Lianne M. Santos & her partner Jason Babine of Eliot, ME, and Laurie A. Santos & her partner Tania Lima-Santos of Peabody; his grandchildren whom were his pride and joy, Amber & Olivia Arpin, Sienna & Baby Girl Fayoda who is due in November, Brielle Babine, and Zayla & Zayden Santos. He was looking forward to meeting Baby Girl Fayoda. Caring brother of Isaltina Greaves of Peabody, Elia Santos of Beverly, Manuel Santos of Peabody, Marcelino Corriea da Silva of Brazil and many nieces and nephews.
No words can describe how much he will be missed. His children and grandchildren will always remember him saying, “love you whole mess!” He left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His spirit lives on in all those he loved.
Arrangements: A small gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday, October 12, 2020 at Boston Cremation in Malden, MA from 9-11:30AM.
