Edward Mason, Jr., affectionately known as “Junior, Eddie, or Eddie Bean,” went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 59 on Monday, November 04, 2019.

Edward was born to the late Bessie Mae Portis-Orr and Edward Mason, Sr. on December 10, 1959, in Bronx, New York. As a child, he loved working with his hands and was a great artist. He attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Massachusetts, where he studied Electrical Engineering.

Eddie Bean was intelligent, insightful, and carefree. He believed that people should “slow down and take it easy” in life. Those were the words he lived by. He came to know the Lord at an early age. He was baptized at the Trinity Baptist Church in the Bronx, where he accepted the Lord as his personal Savior. Despite the many challenges Junior faced in life, he remained determined. His trust in God was unwavering.

Fifteen siblings survive Junior; Phillip Mason and Annette Mason of Michigan, Sheila Mason, Connie Mason, Ken and Elly Mason-Murray of New York; Antoinette Mason-Abdullahi of New Jersey; Antoine and Michelle Mason, Tyrone Mason, Christine Mason of Pennsylvania; Tammie Martino, Johnny Orr, and Bobby Orr of Alabama; Frankie Mason of Georgia; Dwayne and Kookie Mason-Holmes of Florida; Jermaine and Ebony Mason of Washington, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Although a branch has fallen from our family tree, we will remember the good and best of times. Junior, our brother, cousin, uncle, will always be in our hearts and minds. We love you, Eddie Bean. Rest in Peace.
