Eileen (Callahan) Phillion

PHILLION, Eileen (Callahan) Of Melrose, MA passed away at her home on July 20, 2018 at age 59, surrounded by her family after a five year battle with cancer. Eileen was the devoted mother of Robert, Patricia, Dennis, William and Kevin Callahan. Born in Somerville, Eileen was the beloved daughter of the late Mary (Daly) Phillion and Joseph J. Phillion. She was the sister of Joseph A. Phillion and his wife Marti of Melrose, David Phillion and his wife Lisa of Medford, Ann Marie Phillion of Melrose, Barbara Jean Marullo and her husband Joseph of Wakefield, Stephen Phillion of Virginia, Joyce Griffin and her husband Jay of Stoneham, and Ruth Cote and her husband Stephen Cote of Wakefield, the late Rita (Phillion) Lopinsky of Stoneham and her loving Grandson, Matteo Bonsigngnore. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Eileen was a graduate of Matignon High School. She enjoyed sports and competition and played on three varsity sports teams at Matignon, but her proudest legacy is her children. She was a provider and very proud mother. Eileen endured many cancer treatments and trial treatments. Our Family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Melrose Wakefield Hospital who worked so tenaciously with Eileen on this journey.

A Funeral Mass Celebrating Eileen’s Eternal Life will be held in St. Ann Church 399 Medford St. Somerville on Friday, August 10th at 10am.
