Ellen Westlund

She was a devoted sports fan and always had a game on the radio or TV. She also spent whatever spare time she had helping at area shelters. Her garage was often the drop-off spot for donations going to local shelters and she often recruited Paul, Steve, and Sue to assist.

Ellen is predeceased by her husband Paul and her brother Jimmy McAdams. She is survived by her children, Paul and his wife Jenn of Foxboro, Susan of Plainville, and Stephen and his wife Pauline of Mansfield. Ellen also leaves her grandchildren Ian Sullivan, Kelli (Westlund) McSwiney, and Brendan Westlund, as well as her siblings Greg McAdams and his wife Deborah of Lowell, and Tish Stagnone and her husband Frank of Chelmsford.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 4th, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street, Mansfield, followed by Burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Madonna Manor, 85 North Main Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760.

So sorry for this loss! I remember Ellen, so well, as I lived on the same street and a couple of houses down from her! She stands out so vividly in my mind, and I will always remember Ellen, as she touched my heart then and now! She had a wonderful spirit and I would be honored to replicate her spirit! May she Rest In Peace! My thoughts and prayers are being sent to her family and friends! Life is but a dream, when you die you wake up! This world is void of Ellen’s’ presence! ❤️

Ellen was a multi taker. She always did at least three things at a time. Watch a child’s hockey game, Knit without looking, and carry on a conversation. She did them all well too. She had a great recall of names and dates…..such a gift. Tireless energy on very little sleep. I always marveled at her talents.
She was a saint on earth and now she is an Angel in heaven. With love, Vicky & Bill Lawrence

The tears that dampen our eyes during mourning is homesickness for the loved one. But we are the ones away from home. They have reached the doorway to our eternal home with our Father. Death has not separated us because they are tenderly looking down over us. Still, I get a smell of my mother’s favorite flower .
It is the preparation for eternal union with our loved ones, in the PEACE AND JOY OF HEAVEN. She will be missed at Madoona Manor too.

My condolences to the family. Ellen was the kindest person I have ever met when I first moved to Mansfield. She was always there for us even when she’s already helping ten others at the same time. She was there for my son for CCD. We will miss her dearly. Now she can watch us from heaven as our guardian angel. May she RIP!
