Ernest James McCray

Ernest James Mccray (Chucky) was born on July 2, 1966, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Ernest began the journey to reunite with his parents, Ernest and Beverly (Holcombe) McCray, in the afterlife, on December 26, 2021.

Ernest graduated from the Cambridge Ringe and Latin Highschool in 1985; he would later continue his schooling at Bunkerhill Community College to obtain his degree in Culinary Arts.

Ernest treasured Family gatherings, raising fish, deep-sea fishing, camping, traveling, and most of all, savored being a pillar in his children’s, nieces, and nephews’ sporting events. Ernest was the family advocate and bulwark. Those who know him know he’s a connoisseur of cannabis, a charmer (panty charmer), and know they will know him again.

He physically leaves behind his children: Arniya Smith (Joy), Xavier Mccray, Ernest McCray (Devin)

Grandchildren: D’Ardre King and Lynda King

His sisters: Stacy Holcombe, Terry McCray, Crystal McCray, Jannel McCray

Nieces and Nephews: Jeffrey Watson, Robert McCray, Laneisha McCray, Lateisha McCray, Ricky McCray, Rodney McCray, Moneisha McCray, and a host of great-nieces and nephews.

In loving memory of “Chuck a Nut,” who remains with us spiritually forever!

Services will be held Friday January 7, 2022 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Boston Cremation 116 Franklin Street, Quincy MA. All are invited to attend. Please wear a mask.

My family sends our deepest condolences to my dear friend and Brothers family. I am truly in shock we had just spoke a week before… anyway Chuck was a really good man very tough and loved his family more than most and he made me a better dad and man. I’m bummed I’ll never get to smoke with my brother here anytime soon but he made a huge influence on my life both good and bad… mostly good. Love you Mr. Chuck A Nut until we meet again. I have a ton of funny Chuck stories.

Condolences to my family. I will miss my cousin. We lived so far apart. Him in Boston and me in Florida. Every time I saw him and my other cousins, I was so excited and enjoyed every minute we were together.

Family, God will see us through this sad and difficult time. Just knowing some day we will see him again and that he is resting with his parents brings me comfort. I hope it does for y’all too.

    I love y’all.

    Cousin, Stephanie

After knowing him for thirty years, Chuckie’s passing came as an unexpected unbelievable shock. It’s difficult to believe that he is really gone, but I take comfort that someday all of us can be together again in the world to come.

My thoughts are with all Chucks family, friends and loved ones. His Children, Crystal, Terry and his cousin Kieth I’m thinking of you. If I can do anything I’m happy too.

Chuck was one of a kind. He was a truly authentic man, a kind, loyal and loving friend to me. No one had you’re back like chuck did. I looked up to him and learned a lot from him. I will miss you brother, till we meet again.
