Gail M. Koplow

Gail M. Koplow (McGowan), 76, died on April 25, 2016, of Alzheimer’s disease. A woman of tremendous gifts, her gentleness, beauty and depth of connection with others were never extinguished; she remains our shining star. Gail was a gifted mother, therapist, poet, writer, teacher, feminist activist and photographer; she was creative, fanciful, deep, loving – and, oh, so much fun. Such a one will not come our way again. Beloved daughter of the late Marian (Martin) and J. Ford McGowan, Gail will be forever loved by her partner Carole Friedman; her children Paul, Leslie, Hilarie and Jeff Koplow, and their spouses Kathy, Tim (Terpstra), Steve (McAdams) and Jenn; her brother Jay, and sisters Martha (McGowan-Griffin), Anne (Teipel) and Roberta (McGowan); and held dear by her nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, extended family and many close friends, colleagues, students and clients. Gail was pre-deceased by her former spouse Michael Koplow. There will be a memorial gathering at a later date. Please check with BostonCremation.org for further information and to sign the guest book. Memorial gifts may be made to the Lighthouse Residents Activities Fund, Lighthouse Nursing Center, 204 Proctor Ave, Revere, MA 02151, or to the Alzheimer’s Association.

So sorry to hear of Gail’s passing. I have very fond memories from our time together at the Tuft’s Women’s Center. May her memory be a blessing to all her loved ones.
