George C. Follis Sr.

George Charles Follis Sr, 60, of Chelsea, Massachusetts, succumbed to cancer surrounded by his loving family on March 10, 2019. Cherished son of the late William and Mary Follis. George is survived by his wife Julie of 35 years, and his children George and Melissa Follis, Julie Childress-Martin and Sarah Martin, Richard Follis and Liz Espinal, Lynnmarie Claudio and Rachel Proctor, Paul and Carmen Follis. Also survived by his grandchildren Megan Follis and Shane White, Chris, Sean, Lillian, Nathan, Paul Lucciano, Adriana, Gianna, Haley, Faith, and the late George III and great grandchild Aubriella, brothers William and Maryann Follis, Thomas and Debbie Follis, Timothy Follis, Douglas Follis, Richard Follis, John and Kathleen Follis, and the late Robert Follis and loving extended family members Christian, Jayleana and Julian. George also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews and extended family. George was an exceptionally loving father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to everyone.

George loved his family and put nothing before it. He was always happiest when his family was present and would feel proud when his youngest daughter would call him “the creator” in a voice we all could chuckle at. He would always talk proudly about his “clan” as he has quite a large immediate family. George was a hard worker whose main priority was making sure his family was provided for. After working many years at a Foundry, George worked very hard at the age of 50 to obtain his GED, again showing his family anything can be accomplished if you put forth the effort and time needed. George overcame every trial and tribulation thrown his way. He would always push through. George was deeply loved and respected by his family and there are no words to express how greatly he will be missed by all whose lives he touched. While he rests, we know he will watch over the birth of his grandbaby and great grandbaby that he was trying so hard to stay and meet.
George would have wanted to be celebrated versus being mourned. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 24th 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at the Tewksbury Bunting Club located at 449 Boylston St, Lowell, MA 01852, for his family and friends to celebrate George’s life and share their favorite memories of him.
