Gerald R. “Jerry” Higgins

Gerald R. “Jerry” Higgins, 70, of Malden passed away Sunday December 24, 2017. He is survived by his son Timothy of Medford MA, daughter Peggy and her husband Jack of Tewksbury MA, and daughter Teresa and her husband Jim of San Antonio TX. Jerry is also survived by brothers Joseph, John, Robert and William, sisters Patricia and Mary, their spouses, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A lifelong resident of Massachusetts, he was the beloved son of the late Timothy and Margaret (Donovan) Higgins. Always one to do it “his way”, Jerry always kept us guessing. He was often found golfing, visiting friends, or putting miles on his car.

In keeping with Jerry’s wishes, cremation and Celebration of Life will be private.

Jerry was a proud polio survivor; expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to Boston Children’s Hospital, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115, (617) 355-6000 http://www.childrenshospital.org/

Love and prayers to this special family. Peg is a testament to the special man he was—an inspiration and legacy he has left behind through her life and light. The stories she told about him made his personality very enjoyable and familiar to me, someone who never even had the privilege and pleasure of meeting him, except through the loving eyes and delightful stories of his precious daughter, Margaret. He will surely be missed. My deepest and heartfelt condolences to the Higgins family..
