Jean Marie Gastonguay
Jean Marie Gastonguay passed away Thursday July 11, 2013 leaving her brother Joel Gastonguay and his wife Janine, a sister Dale Bowden, a nephew Michael Gastonguay and his wife Heather and two nieces Jessica Bowden and Jennifer Potter along with several cousins. Jean Marie enjoyed taking care of others. She was devoted to the mentally handicapped clients in her care and carried that care and devotion into her personal life as well. She was a guardian for many of the clients that touched her heart. She was closest to Paul Sargent, a client from Hogan Reginal Center who attends the Bass River, Inc. day care program in Beverly. Her wish was to use the picture of her with Paul in her Obituary. Children especially loved her jubilant personality and they would knock on her door waiting for candy and toys. They couldn’t wait for her to come to the pool because she would always play with them. Anyone who knew Jean Marie will surly remember her enthusiastic telling of stories and jokes. She was very artistically talented and her friends either have a quilt, pin or painting she had made. She will be sorely missed by her many friends and family. A memorial mass for Jean Marie is being planned on Saturday, September 14th at 11 a.m. at the St Anne Church on 290 Jefferson Avenue in Salem followed by a gathering at the school afterwards. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. She wished this gathering to be a celebration of her life so we plan to have photo albums available to look at and anyone who would like to share some pictures or stories of Jean Marie is welcome to do so. If desired, Memorial Contributions may be made to Bass River, Inc., 437 Essex St. in Beverly, MA 01915.
