John A. Brown


John A. Brown loving husband of the late Ann (Burke) Brown passed away on August 7, 2024.

Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, John was a first generation American as his late parents, John Z and Josephine Brown emigrated from Lithuania. He was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School Class o f1942. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy after high school at the age of 17 serving in World War II discharging from the Navy after the war ended with a rank of Master Carpenter First Class.

John moved his family from Lynn to Beverly in 1961 and has resided at his beloved homestead ever since. He was a very active member of St. John the Evangelist Church for many years serving as head usher at the Sunday 8:00 am service. He was a self-employed carpenter using his skills to make improvements to his church over the years.

Bumpy as he was affectionately called by his grandchildren, is survived by his daughter-in-law Kristine (Perry) Brown (also his caregiver) of Beverly. He is also survived by his two grandsons, Jason Brown and his wife Krista of Ashland, as well as Scott Brown and his wife Elizabeth of Beverly. He was the proud great-grandfather of three – Asher and Calia of Ashland and Nathaniel of Beverly.

John was predeceased by his wife Ann, his sister Della Wheeler and his children John, Timothy, Christopher, Mary and Kathleen.
