John Martis (Jack) passed away peacefully on March 22, 2023 at the Mass General Hospital after a brief illness.  Jack was predeceased by his parents Josephine (Leahy) and Francis Martis.  He leaves behind many cousins and dear friends.

Jack was born in Somerville, Ma.  on December 2, 1934.  Jack was a longtime resident of Boston who was known for his advocacy for human rights and equality by demonstrating in marches across Boston and the Northeast.  He worked for many years as a handyman in the Back Bay, taking pride in his painting skills, he was extremely generous by painting apartments for people who were down on their luck. 

Jack will be truly missed by his family and friends.
