Jonnne Quilty

Joanne (Sciarrillo) Quilty was born on 11/4/1947 – in Winthrop, MA to Josephine Sciarrillo and Phillip Sciarrillo.
Joanne was the devoted wife of 51 years to George Quilty of Winthrop. They have 3 children together and 9 grandchildren.
Michael, and wife Andrea, 2 children Ayden and Ayva; George, and wife Amy, 3 children Gage, George, and Isabella;
and daughter Melissa, and husband Lawone Bennett, 4 children Rayshawn, Isaiah, Lilliana, and Luciana.
Joanne Graduated from Winthrop high in 1965. She started her career as a hair dresser on Crest Ave in Winthrop for many years, worked for Fedex, and then returned back to crest avenue in Winthrop to run two family businesses Silver Clean, and The Ultimate Tan.

Joanne’s creativity and kindness will live on forever within her family. She will be missed by so many and will always be remembered for her loving caring ways. Always trying to make everyone happy – that was her goal in life. There wasn’t much she couldn’t do. After her 3 hours of dialysis she would cook for an army. She always made sure everyone was fed. She loved to cook for holidays, birthdays, and any special occasion, or just mention you were craving something and “I’ll make it!” (and she would that day). She was an avid bowler and always enjoyed a game of bingo!
Joanne Passed away peacefully on Friday 4/9/21 with her husband and 3 children by her side after battling complications of sudden cardiac arrest on 3/12/21. Joanne leaves behind her husband, children, grandchildren, in laws, half sister Gabriella Sciarrillo and has been reunited with her beloved mother Josephine Sciarillo, and her beloved sister Chicky Ryan along with many relatives we miss dearly.

Joanne truly was our superwoman. We will miss her dearly.

Due to Covid restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date per family request.

    It is so hard to lose Joanne so soon after my mom. There are so many things I remember doing with Joanne when I was growing up. I remember hanging out in her salon (the Continental I think it was called) with her dog, Cheri. I would run to the corner store to buy coffee for the ladies getting their hair done. I remember racing her in the pool. I remember digging up some wild pussy willows in our backyard and taking them to her house to plant them. I remember when she took me to St Anthony’s feast in the North End. I remember so many family holidays with enough food to feed the entire town. Afternoons on the boat. Fishing off the pier. I most remember talking to her on the phone just a few weeks ago and telling her I would stop by to see her since it had been too long. I am so sorry we did not get the chance.

    I know she is at peace now like my mom, but we all will miss her so much.
