Josephine O. Hoar


Josephine Olga Hoar (Troisi) of Everett, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 25, 2024. She was 91 years old, Born on May 9, 1933 in Boston, MA  a first generation Italian American, whose parents Vincenzo Troisi and Guiseppina Nutile immigrated to the United States from Naples, Italy in the 1920’s. She spent her early years in the North End of Boston before her family moved to Medford where she attended grade school, she later married, moved to Everett and went on to work at the famed Hill Top Steak House she also worked in the medical field at the Whidden Memorial Hospital where she retired. She was a cherished member of the Everett Community.

Olga was a beacon of kindness, generosity, and humor, touching the lives of those around her. She was immensely proud of her family and derived great joy from spending time with her family and friends alike. Her hobbies included traveling, dancing, listening to music, visiting casinos, playing lottery scratch tickets, and cooking, all of which she shared as cherished with loved ones.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Finnegan & significant other Wil Labonte, Patricia Long, and Josi Michael & husband Jeff; She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shawn Finnegan, Erin Edmands & husband Frank, Brian Michael, Stephanie Michael, Amanda Michael, Jennifer Michael & Melissa Riley & husband Thomas. Josephine is also survived by her 6 great grandchildren, Skyla, Ashley, Lucas, Nora, Dayna, & Nora Belle as well as her loving Nieces, Nephews and their Families. Olga was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Schuylar B. Hoar, and her siblings and spouses, Edith & Vincent Corrado, Grace & John Castro, Carmen & Florence Gentile, and Pat & Mary Troisi.

In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed. Contributions can be made in her name, Josephine Olga Hoar, to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.

Olga’s warmth and laughter will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Boston Cremation in Malden, is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Memorial services will be announced at a later date for family and close friends.

    These days have not been the same. I miss my friend so much. It was a pleasure to be her friend. We laughed sometimes so hard we hurt. What a beautiful human being she was. So fortunate to have met you in my Golden Years. I am sending love to her family. She was a gem

    Debbie, Patty and Coochie,
    So sorry for your loss. Your mom was one in a million and will be missed by many.
    As my godmother, she never forgot a birthday or holiday. I will never forget her.
