As most of you know I lost my mother on February 12th. It was a long hard fight for her and for all of us but in the end it was not to be.
She and Dad will be buried Saturday with my brother Jimmy (her favorite) and the rest of us will be on the outside looking in.
It was my privilege to help her navigate these last years of her life without Dad and I already feel a huge void in my soul. The tears are not subsiding yet and I wonder when and if they will.
I am blessed to still have had her at my age and in my rational moments feel selfish at my heavy heart and profound sorrow. I guess you are never ready to lose your mother.
Thank you all for your kind expressions of sympathy and I look forward to seeing you all in the near future.
    Love,
    Joni

So sorry for your loss. It is always terrible to lose a mother, no matter when. May she rest in peace, and watch over her family from heaven.
