Karen Nickerson

Karen Nickerson, age 56, of Chelmsford, MA, died from a brief illness on April 13, 2018.

Karen was born in Quincy, MA on April 12, 1962 to Joan and Kenny Small. She was a former Human Resource Assistant for the Internal Revenue Service.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Jackie “Bird” Small and daughter in-law Sandra Small. She is also survived by her granddogs, Taca Bella and Brownee, a grandcat, “Kitty,” and many friends. She will forever be remembered for her words of encouragement, sense of humor, and generous heart. The lasting impressions she made on everyone can never be fully measured. She loved Elvis, I love Lucy, Pugs, French bull dogs, and any animal she ever met.

There will be a celebration of life July 25th, 2018 in Hampton, NH. Since she loved the beach and ocean she requested that her ashes be scattered in the ocean. Please join us on the fireworks cruise boat to celebrate her life. Please let us know if you would like to attend. More details will become available shorly.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Karen Nickerson’s memory to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org

    Jackie and Sandra,

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember when I worked with Karen. I have many fond memories of her in and out of work. It’s so weird, because just the other day I was thinking of her. It may have even been on Friday. I think of her whenever I see a house with “weird windows”. Back then, I was Carol Valley, but now I am back to my birth name, Carol Fortin. Feel free to reach out to me on Facebook as you solidify the plans for her celebration.

My condolences dear family, and many happy memories of Karen be with you. And may these promises from Jehovah God bring solace. “Do not be anxious….but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God; and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7; Isaiah 25:8 NWT.
