Kathleen B. Jones Deandrade

July 31, 1955 ~ February 23, 2023

Kathleen B. Deandrade (Jones) born July 31,1955 age 67, of Charlestown, Massachusetts. Passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family at Massachusetts General Hospital on February 23,2023.

Kathy was the beloved mother of Neil T. Jones of Charlestown, MA., Mariaelana Deandrade (Mia) and fiancée Joseph Fitzsimmons of Methuen, Ma. The devoted nana of Olivia R. Fitzsimmons and Matthew T. Fitzsimmons. She was predeceased by her mother Pauline Ridlon, her siblings Bobby, Jacqueline, Michael, Jimmy, and Patricia. She is survived by seven other siblings John, Ricky, Barbara, Andy, Oscar, Mary, and Lance. Kathy leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who she treasured dearly.

Kathy was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She loved her children unconditionally and embraced every moment with them. She especially cherished her role as a nana to her grandchildren. Kathy was also very fond of her grand-dog Beamer in which she shared her birthday with.

She loved to spend her time in the kitchen, especially when making spaghetti dinner from scratch. It was her favorite dish. She loved music, specifically oldies, which was always a must while joy riding. As for hobbies, she enjoyed playing cards, scratching lottery tickets, and doing word searches. Kathy was a proud Boston Red Sox fan and when not at Fenway Park she liked to binge watch Law and Order and Family Feud. Most of all, she admired watching her grandchildren play and reading books with them. Her family genuinely brought her so much happiness and she bragged endlessly about them. If you knew Kathy personally then you knew she was a simple woman who always saw the silver lining in things. She was best known for her witty humor, determination, and gigantic heart. If you said she couldn’t do it, she would make sure to prove you wrong that she could. If Kathy had it, everyone had it and she made sure you always felt loved and welcomed in her presence. The way she passed is just like she lived. She wrote her own rules, she was courageous, and she paved her own way.

On all the important days in life, and on the regular ones, too- Kathy you will forever be loved and missed so much. To honor Kathy’s memory, services will be held at Boston Cremation, 287 Main St, Malden, MA 02148 on Thursday, March 16, 2023, 10 a.m-12pm. We invite anyone who knew her to attend and remember her life. Kathy was most comfortable in her jeans. We are asking attendees to honor her by wearing yours if you choose to on this day.

    Kathy,
It was an honor being blessed with you in my life. From little girls bobbing for apples at Mia’s birthday party, to teenagers writing all over mias bedroom door, to adults and mothers – you always brought wisdom, welcoming love and endless encouragement I will cherish forever. I will never forget the role and void you fulfilled. During our last moments, you asked me to make a promise & I will always keep that promise.

“Hey Ma, it’s me – just wanted to tell ya I love you and miss you. Talk to you later, Chips ❤️ “
