Kathleen E. Godwin
Kathleen E. Godwin, 42, was the daughter of Donald S. Godwin and Mary A. (Parks) Godwin and mother of Scott Mark (Stillman) Godwin. Born in Suffern, N.Y., Kate went to school in Monsey, N.Y., and Gloucester, Mass. She graduated from Wellspring and Salem State College. Kate worked for Senior Care, as well as having a preschool daycare center in her home. She worked at Cable gardens in Ipswich and was a representative for Creative Memories. She loved crafting, especially scrapbooking, and was a Cub Scout Leader for Pack 60. Kate was a caring, loving person who felt the need to help everyone who needed her. She never left time for herself. Kate’s love, most of all, was her son, Scott. She loved taking him to his sporting events and camping. Kate is survived by her son, Scott Mark (Stillman) Godwin, parents, Donald S. Godwin, Mary A. (Parks) Godwin, and her mother-in-law, Barbara Reed, all of Gloucester; an adopted brother, Michael D. Godwin of North Carolina; many aunts and uncles, cousins and many, many friends; and her pet dog, “Bell.” Kate was predeceased by her husband, Mark A. Stillman; grandmother, Mary (Harvey) Levitus; grandfather, Richard Parks of Gloucester; grandparents, Robert W. and Sabina Godwin; and uncle, Edward T. Godwin of Monsey, N.Y. Kate’s big smile and laugh and her kind heart will be sadly missed. ARRANGEMENTS: There will be no visiting hours. A Celebration service of Kate’s life at the West Gloucester Trinitarian Congregational Church, 488 Essex Ave., Gloucester, MA, will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013, noon to 4 p.m. Prayer at 1 p.m. All family and friends are welcome. I am so sorry that Kate was taken too soon. She had a bright smile and warm heart. Kate took care of my two children in her home and provided a safe and comforting environment for them. She will be missed in the Gloucester community.
