Kathleen Patricia Malloy (1948-2024)


Kathleen Patricia Malloy, 76, of Somerville, Ma formerly of Cambridge, Ma passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, June 17, 2024. She was born in Cambridge, Ma on March 17, 1948, to the late George and Alice (Vandrill) Martin. In addition to her parents, Kathleen is pre-deceased by her brother John Allen Martin. She is survived by her four sisters Mary Inez Falkland and her husband Fred, Margie Breslin and her husband Greg, Debbie Martin, and her youngest sister Gina Marquis. 

Kathleen attended North Cambridge Catholic where she graduated in 1966. She met her husband Richard (Butch) Malloy shortly after high school and they quickly married. Soon after they began to raise a family. She referred to herself as a domestic engineer dedicating her life to her family.

Kathleen loved spending time with her family and having an occasional beverage in hand. She enjoyed crocheting and creating little keepsakes for everyone. She was so creative and whenever she had her grandchildren she would paint, bake, draw or doing something artistic with them making so many joyful memories. She always loved listening to music with a few of her favorites being Prince, Barry Manilow, Willie Nelson and of course the King himself Elvis. She loved torturing herself with horror movies whenever she had the time. She was a big Boston sports fan.

Kathleen will be deeply missed and is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Richard Malloy of Somerville; her sons, John Malloy and his wife Meaghan of Methuen, Richard Malloy of Everett;  her daughters, Kerry (DeMattia) and her husband Jason of Methuen, Shannon Malloy of Somerville, Stephanie Malloy of Somerville, and Cassey Malloy of Methuen; nine grandchildren Kyle and his wife Chandler, Kelsey and her husband Troy, Jordan, John, Richie, (along with their mom Jemima), Alexis, Ryan, Rafael and Ethan; as well as one great grandchild Arlo with a soon to be second.

Friends and guests are invited for period of visitation on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Boston Cremation, 287 Main St. Malden. A funeral service will be held at Boston Cremation immediately following the visitation beginning promptly at 11:30 AM.
