Kenneth A. Tocci

Tocci, Kenneth A. of Rockland Ma, formerly of Braintree Ma, on Saturday, December 11, 2021. loving father of two sons and grandfather of four grandsons, passed away at age 75 after a gallant fight against a lengthy, prolonged illness.

Ken, Kenny, Papa Tocci, Sam, or KSR (names he was affectionately known as by loved ones), was born on August 25, 1946 to his parents Guido and Derna Tocci of Braintree. After graduating Braintree High School in 1964 he went to undergraduate school at Northeastern University then went to Suffolk University Law School and practiced law until he retired.

He was most passionate about the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins, politics and Silver Lake High School Baseball. He loved black and white and old western movies, as well as game shows like Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. He was a longtime Braintree American Little League and Braintree Babe Ruth Coach and member of the Board of Directors, member of the South Shore Umpire’s Association and Eastern Massachusetts Association of Interscholastic Football Officials. He was a member of The Rockland Golden Agers, Rockland Senior Men’s Club, as well as a recent member of the Rockland capital planning board and finance committee.

However; his family was the most important thing in the world to him. He is survived by his two sons Kenny and Stevie (as he called his “boys”) Tocci, four grandsons Dominic, Roman, Nikolas and Angelino Tocci, married to late wife Ellen A. Tocci (deceased 2011), partner Nancy Crowley, Godson Johnny Richardson, and the following in-laws: sister-in-law Jeanne Richardson, brother-in-law Ron Richardson, and daughter-in-law Melissa Tocci. He was best known for being proud of his sons, being a gentleman in the truest sense of the word, his dry wit, impersonating Danny DeVito, his anecdotes, being humble to a fault, the kindness he showed everyone, his legendary and unparalleled stoicism, his forgiving nature, unquestioned generosity and loving everyone he loved unconditionally. Very rarely a day would go by that you wouldn’t find him in some sort of Patriots, Red Sox or Silver Lake Baseball apparel.

A funeral service will be held on December 23, 2021 at Boston Cremation 116 Franklin Street Quincy Ma. Visitation time will be 8-9:30am. A mass will follow at St. Clare Church, 1244 Liberty Street Braintree Ma. At 10 am. Burial will be at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, 20 Sea Street Quincy Ma.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Lupus Foundation of New England or Lupus Foundation of America.

So hard to say goodbye Sam. My oldest friend and brother-in-law. Yet so many great memories and good times. And of course some rough ones as well. We met and married two wonderful women, grew our families now including grandchildren. Sports was high on your list and we enjoyed many hours sharing games, golfing and watching our kids playing (and coaching). So hard to sum up a lifetime of memories.

Rest in Peace my friend… until we meet again.

Nancy, your loving care and commitment to Ken was so inspiring. Nothing was a burden but just naturally how you treat someone you love. My Aunt Helen & I enjoyed many fun dinners and ‘gatherings’ with your group. Ken had a great sense of humor. He was so proud of his boys and grandsons and his involvement with Sports. Nancy & Ken were wonderful neighbors helping others in need. I hope to see you again, Nacy but I’m sending you a hug for now. Love you.

So sorry to see that Kenny Sr. Has passed away. I had the pleasure of umpiring with Kenny many times over years. He always brought a positive attitude. He was truly one of our guys that was there “for the kids”. I many times witnessed him take time to encourage players and instill lifes little lessons. A quite manner and old time values, that was Kenny. It was an honor my friend. Rest in peace.
