Kenneth G. Kellar


Kenneth G. Kellar, Jr, born in 1943 in Charlston SC, son of Kenneth G. and Doraline Kellar of Brackettville TX, passed away July 5, 2018 at home surrounded by loved ones. An accomplished painter and avid photographer, Ken joined the US Navy at the age of 17, serving honorably from 1962-1967. Ken was stationed in Washington D.C. and often encountered President John F. Kennedy and other heads of state while playing trombone in the U.S. Navy Band. After the Navy, Ken had a successful career in information technology, working as a computer programmer in the Boston area for many years. Ken was passionate about technology. In the early 80s he volunteered to help resear chers at MIT trouble shoot communica tions technology that laid the foundation for the internet. He was the devoted father of Suzanne and Ralph Carranza of Ft. Collins CO, and Kristen and Mike Lee of Big Fork MT, as well as 4 grandchildren, Diego, Lars, Oscar, and Piper. He was the loving partner of Jeanne Jaroszewski of Melrose.
