Lawrence “Larry” Melanson

It is with great sadness that the family of Lawrence “Larry” Melanson announces his sudden passing due to a brief illness on May 19, 2018 at the age of 65 years old.

Larry will be lovingly remembered by his wife Andrea Melanson and his daughters, Jessica Bezviner and her husband Larry Bezviner, Lauren Decker, Rebecca Bennett and husband Rob Bennett, his grandsons Dominic and Noah, and his grand-daughter Kaitlyn. Larry was the loving son of the late Leo Melanson and the late Joan Melanson. Beloved brother of Steven Melanson, Joyce Melanson, and the late Dean Melanson. Larry will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, great friends and work associates. He will also be dearly missed by his dog Ginger and his daughter’s dog Tyson.

After an honorable discharge he proudly served on the Malden Fire Department at the Maplewood Branch as a firefighter for 18 years, until his medically forced retirement in 2003. He was also a mason by trade and loved to show the ones he loved how much he loved them by his amazing cooking skills. He will be deeply missed by all.

Joyce, again I’m so sorry for you and your family. Larry passed away on my birthday, more’s the pity. My long-ago memories of him include some of our sports conversations as well as the car door accident with his hand that I still remember like it was yesterday. I know it’s a very difficult time for you and yours, and please accept my best wishes. And Thank You for sending me this link.

I hadn’t realized that Dean had passed away too. I remember him as being the cat-lover of your family. Again, my condolences to both of you and your families.
