Lois C. Couch, formally of Gloucester MA passed away January 23,2025 at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln MA., she was 80 years old.

Lois was born July 3,1944 in Monticello NY to the late Mildred E. (Dolan) Couch and Eugene A. Couch and was raised by her mom and step-father William Donaldson after her father passed when she was just 3.

She graduated from Monticello HS in 1962 and held various jobs in her lifetime, including many years as a switchboard operator at The Concord Hotel, in Medical Records at Horton Hospital and at BCBS. She later moved to Gloucester MA to be close to her granddaughter Catherine.

Lois was very active in The Degree of Pocahontas organization both in NY and in MA. She enjoyed reading, crafting, crocheting and playing bingo.

Lois is survived by her children; David Culligan in NE, Laura Class (Thomas) in NH and John Culligan (Tracy Abato) in NY. As well as her grandchildren; Nichole Meyer (Zach), Kendra Liibbe, Cody Pick (Nicki) in NE, Catherine Class (Kevin Anderson) in MA, Jessica Culligan, Ryan Culligan (Brittney), Samantha Walters in NY, Jennifer Truscott (Chris) and Ryan Stehlin (Kelly) in MA, well as 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Greg Stokes in NY, niece Diane Applegate in NY, nephew Scott Donaldson (Kyrie) in NY, and niece Tricia Saverino (Jason) in FL.

She is pre-deceased by her parents, sister Elizabeth “Betty” Lader, brother Robert Couch, sister Marilyn Young and nephew William “Ed” Donaldson.

Per Lois’ wishes, her remains will be laid to rest next to her father in Phillipsport, NY at the convenience of the family.
