Lois Sturtevant died peacefully at the accomplished age of 100 in Newton, MA on Saturday April 21, 2018. Her daughter, Joy Sturtevant was present and son and daughter-in-law, Dean Sturtevant and Mina Dara nearby. Lois was born (September 29, 1917), raised, and married in the same house in Detroit, MI. She then hit the dusty trail and lived in Washington, DC, Arlington VA, Columbia SC, Grosse Point MI, Stewart Manor NY, Tucson AZ, San Diego CA, and finally Newton MA near her son, Dean. She also travelled all over the U.S. and visited daughter, Joy in Scotland, Sweden, and France while she was living there.

Lois was a secretary until adopting twins Joy and Dean and then became a full time housemaker. However, she had several hobbies which included volunteering in natal wards at hospitals, antiquing, and collecting and making jewelry with rocks and gems. Her knowledge of antiques and minerals was self-learned. Truly an amazing woman.

She will be missed by her children Joy and Dean, Mina, and extended family in the Detroit area. The family wishes to wholeheartedly thank the staff at Evans Park at Newton Corner and Hebrew Hospice Senior Living for their excellent care and attention to Lois.
