Luke Hancock

Luke Hancock, a resident of Boston, MA, and born on September 10, 1966, in Somerville, MA, passed away at the age of 57 on August 27th, 2024. He spent his life embodying the spirit of hard work and unique personality that could divide a room but always left a memorable impression.

Luke’s career was as diverse as his interests, having worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, a laborer for Local 25 and Costa Fruit, and as a subcontractor in construction. His skills as a handyman were well-regarded in his community.

Known for his vibrant personality, Luke was often the life of the party, telling bold jokes and making everyone around him either laugh or shake their heads in disbelief. His love for music was vast, enjoying artists from the Eagles to Eminem, and he was rarely seen without headphones. Luke also had a creative side, shown in his passion for drawing and building motorized bicycles.

Luke was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Parish in Somerville, MA. His commitment to his family was undeniable; he tried his best to be an exceptional father and a loving life partner.

Luke is survived by his life partner, Ann Marie Centola; his children, Karli Martin, Shane Hancock; siblings Michelle Silva, Mark Hancock, John Hancock, and Carol Hancock. Ann Marie & Family,

Sorry to hear the passing of Luke. We hung out years ago and life went by. He was a great guy, always enjoyed his sense of humor.
And man was he competitive. We ran Fresh Pond and I naturally beat him weighing less than him by at least 30lbs. The next time we ran it, he refused to lose and beat me by a mile.

    God Bless Luke.
    John Roderick
