Margaret Miller
Winchester – Margaret D. (Jones) Miller, 87, of Winchester passed away at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading on April 26, 2022
Margaret was born in West Grove, Pennsylvania on May 4, 1935 and spent most of her youth in Chester County, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Oxford Area High School and attended Drexel University where she met the love of her life and husband for the last 65 years, George Miller of Philadelphia, PA.
Margaret and George’s lives took them all around the world, traveling to and living in England, Korea and countless other places. They enjoyed telling stories from their many adventures, with Margaret often filling in the details when George couldn’t remember.
Margaret was a woman of many talents and interests. She was a gifted artist, an avid crossword enthusiast, and an unbelievable cook. She was also very athletic; running (and winning) many races, and playing tennis into her 80s. She enjoyed the opera, music, gardening, knitting, learning German, and reading. She was also an animal lover who provided love and care to many birds and dogs over the years.
Margaret was smart, kind, and had a great sense of humor. Above all she was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother. She was very involved in her four grandchildren’s lives and was deeply loved by them.
Margaret is survived by her husband George, her son Elliott and his wife Maureen, and her four grandchildren: Emily, Michael, Jonathan and Andrew. She will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Winchester Hospital Center for Cancer Care and the Sawtelle Family Hospice House for their care.
A Celebration of Margaret’s Life will be held at a later date.
