Maria Brito Cunha


Mansfield-Mary Brito Cunha, formerly of Randolph, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 13th at the age of 92. 
Maria was born on January 12th, in Brava, Cape Verde.  She was the only child of Elzira (Andrade) and Joaquim Brito. Maria was married at age 27 to Manuel (Nei) Cunha who predeceased her in 2008. They had 3 children, Celina and twins, Cynthia and the late Mary Cunha. She loved gardening and always had a beautiful flower and vegetable garden to tend.  She was extremely generous with all who encountered her and loved to give people food and gifts.  She worked at Polaroid and brought home one of the first “Instant” camera to test with her kids.  Her favorite pastime was talking to and about her grandchildren: Jessica, Michelle, Kristin and Sean. She was a devote Catholic and enjoyed praying the Rosary.  She will be missed by all.
All are invited to attending visiting hours on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 3-7pm in Boston Cremation, 115 North Main St., Mansfield, MA 02048. A funeral Mass will be held at on Tuesday June 21, 2022 at 11AM in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St., Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 245 North St., Randolph, MA 02368.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks memorial contributions be made to the Greater New England Multiple Sclerosis Society, 101A First Ave., Waltham, MA 02451.

    Sorry for your loss Cindy. Your mom was a treasure. I first met her at exercise class but didn’t realize she was your Mom for quite a while. She was so welcoming and always has a great smile for everyone. Love to your family.

    Celina, Cindy and family…Your mom was a dear friend of my mother. We have many memories of our childhood visits to one another’s homes as I’m sure you remember as well. Your mom was a sweet and gentle lady as this is how I always perceived her. May she rest peacefully now with the Angels and our Lord…😇..my thoughts and prayers are with you all…
