Marie Janet (Lannan) Silva

Marie Janet (Lannan) Silva of Revere, MA, passed away peacefully at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln on Sunday, August 22, 2021, surrounded by loving family. Born in Salem, MA, Janet was the devoted daughter of the late Frank P. and Florence M. (Langis) Lannan. She was predeceased by her two older sisters, Marilyn F. Dalton and Jeanne M. Sullivan. Janet grew up and attended school in Somerville, and spent most summer days with her sisters and Langis cousins at her grandmother’s home in the Point of Pines, Revere. She was a strong, independent woman and a devout Roman Catholic who loved her family and God.

Janet went to school for interior design, and was gifted and talented in many other ways. She excelled as a seamstress, creating fashionable clothes and decorations for her loved ones, especially her three grandchildren. She worked for many years in the hospitality industry across Boston, most notably at Logan Airport and Nardizzi’s restaurant, where she made many lifelong friends. In her retirement years, she got her school bus driver’s license and drove a school bus.

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Donna M. Silva of Woburn, MA, and Debra J. Silva-Onessimo of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and her cherished and adored grandchildren: Devon Fitchett of Wellesley, MA; Dean Onessimo of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and Dana Fitchett of Boston, MA. She also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as her dear friends, Candace (Lunde) Naughton and Rhonda Verrocchi. The family expresses sincere gratitude to the Cambridge Health Alliance Hospital Everett (Whidden) staff, especially Dr. Jeremy Sylvan and Dr. Soumya Narayan, and also to the staff at Care Dimensions in Lincoln, especially Eartha, Eva, Nasim, Kathy, Jessica, Sarah, and Taylor, for their compassionate care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Anthony’s of Padua Church, 250 Revere Street, Revere, MA on Monday, September 27th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Winthrop Cemetery.
