It is with great sadness to the family of Mary “Betsy” Santiago of Everett has passed suddenly on Friday April 24th, 2020. Mother of 3 sons Victor Santiago (Wife- Sylvia), Luis Santiago (Wife- Nicole) and Micheal Santiago. Mary was born in Waltham, Ma. to John and Bertha (Breault) Lupo. She worked at Boston College in the Dining Services dept. for 20 plus years. Known as “Bets” or “Betsy” to all who met her. She had a kind heart, and an optimistic attitude and was always ready to help anyone she could. She loved to cook and paint, and spend time with her grandkids as often as she could. She was previously married to Luis Santiago Sr., and was preceded in death by her second husband, Wilner George’s.

She is survived by her siblings- Linda Woods, Catherine Orifice, Barbara Martinez, Judith Avron, John Lupo, and her grandchildren Alyssa Santiago, Micheal Santiago Jr., Zoe Isabella Santiago and Savannah Rae Santiago, as well as countless nieces and nephews and an extended family who will forever miss Auntie Betsy’s great smile and warm hugs.

Mary’s final wishes were to be cremated. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in memory of Mary to the Wounded Warriors charity or, the charity of your choice.
