Matthew D. White

Matthew “Matt” D. White, 31, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020, after a brief illness,
surrounded by loved ones. Matthew was a beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend.

Matthew was born in Beverly, Massachusetts on June 1, 1989, the son of the late Gary D. and Susan M.
White (Dunn). He attended Peabody Veteran’s Memorial High School, graduating in 2007. Matthew
worked in a variety of jobs throughout his career, including service positions at Home Depot and Lowe’s
and, most recently, as a landscaper.

Matthew enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid sports enthusiast. He greatly enjoyed playing sports,
following Boston sports teams, and coaching. Matthew spent many years playing baseball in the
Peabody Little League and Babe Ruth League systems and was a star pitcher. Matthew really enjoyed
spending time with his nephew and niece, both of whom cherished him. His visits meant the world to
them and they always had so much fun playing together.

Matthew had a happy‐go‐lucky personality and a sharp wit. He could fill a room with laughter with his
great sense of humor. He lived life to the fullest and made a lasting impression on everyone with whom
he made their acquaintance. He formed countless friendships and would do anything he could to help
those whom he loved.

In addition to his parents, Matthew was predeceased by his sister, Jennifer White, maternal grandfather,
John “Jack” Dunn, his paternal grandmother, Gloria White, and his maternal step grandfather, Tom
Rando. Surviving Matthew are: his older sister and brother‐in‐law, Stefanie and Greg Rogers of Peabody
and their children, Dylan and Aubrey Rogers; his paternal grandfather, Murray White, of Peabody; his
maternal grandmother, Irene Rando, of Peabody; uncle and aunt, David and Carol White, of Peabody; uncle and aunt, Michael and Gail White, of New Jersey; uncle and aunt, John and Joyce Dunn, of
Danvers; uncle and aunt, Daniel Gauthier, Sr. and Elizabeth (Dunn) Gauthier, of Salem; cousins,
Samantha and Megan White of Peabody, Michelle White of California, Ashley and Rachel White of New
Jersey, Jay and Steven Dunn of Danvers, Jessica Nestle (Dunn) and her husband, Kenny, of Beverly,
Katlyn (Gauthier) Sterner of Ohio and her husband, Cameron, Daniel Gauthier, Jr. of Salem, Corey
Gauthier of Nahant, and Brett Gauthier of Peabody; companion, Jessica Jackson, of Peabody; many close
friends, including Elise Guay of Peabody and Michael Fraser of New Jersey; and many extended family
members.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Kaplan Family Hospice House (Care Dimensions) in
Danvers, Massachusetts, in Matthew’s memory. In Matthew’s spirit, please do a good deed today,
reach out to a friend, or lend a helping hand. Due to COVID‐19 restrictions, a celebration of life will be
held privately in Matthew’s honor at a later date.
