Maxine D. Ewing
Maxine D Ewing, 94, of Winchester, MA, died Friday, August 23, 2024, at Belmont Manor
Nursing Center. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late James Edwards
and Mary “Dolly” (Clark) Edwards.
Maxine is survived by two sons, Jon (June) of NH, Jeff (Jana) of MA; three daughters, Susan
(Edward) of MA, Alison (Bruce) of NH, Valerie (Carl) of MA, 15 grandchildren, 5 great
grandchildren, sister Pauline Gray, brother-in-law Clyde Welsh both of Halifax, NS, sister-in-law
Freda Edwards of Mt. Uniacke, NS, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her
loving husband Walter J Ewing of Winchester, brothers Jack, Jim, and Fred all of NS, sisters,
Diane Simmons, and Carolyn Welsh of NS.
A member of the Church of the Epiphany, Maxine was active with the yearly craft fair donating
many of her knit and sewing projects. She also participated with the “visitors” group visiting
church members who were shut-in.
We, her family, know that Motherhood was Maxine’s greatest pride, joy and achievement. She
was a role model for us through the years. That, and her love, is her greatest gift to us, her
family.
A private service to be held at the Church of the Epiphany, Winchester, MA.
